Digbeth Loc. Studios is the new home to storytellers. TIME + SPACE is working in partnership with writer, director and Peaky Blinders creator, Steven Knight CBE, converting 80,000 sq ft of abandoned Victorian and industrial buildings into a cutting-edge film and TV studio and flexible workspace venue. The studios aim to generate 760 local employment opportunities, fostering the growth of the next wave of creative talent. The onsite coworking space ‘1 Minerva Works’ is now open.

Situated in the heart of the city centre, the Digbeth Loc. partnership has embarked on a mission to position Birmingham as a prominent destination for filming and production. Digbeth Loc. Studios is already offering great production spaces and facilities to the likes of Kudos Film & TV and Caryn Mandabach Productions and will be home to newly upgraded film studios offering circa 50,000 sq ft of studio space with supporting ancillary production offices and onsite workshops.

Before its official opening, Digbeth Loc. Studios has already secured major international productions, including MasterChef, who will commence recording in January 2025. The studio was also home to a new series, This Town, a BBC drama chronicling the narrative of two-tone music in the West Midlands. Additionally, Steven Knight's highly anticipated Peaky Blinders movie will commence shooting on site in late 2024.

Digbeth Loc. Studios is just a seven-minute stroll from HS2's Curzon Street station. The imminent arrival of HS2 and the transformative connectivity, have undoubtedly accelerated this renaissance.
